Three requests went to Google on every load — two preconnects and a stylesheet — so the claim was false, Google saw every visit, and on an air-gapped machine (which the repository description calls a supported use) the whole type identity silently fell back to Georgia. That fallback is what an offline reader saw, and it is a large part of why the app "looked wrong" in some places and fine in others. Latin subsets only, which is what the interface uses. Cinzel and EB Garamond ship as variable fonts, so one file covers every weight of each — the previous stylesheet requested three Cinzel weights and received the same file three times. Six files, 152 KB. The single-file build inlines these as data: URIs; `tools/bundle.mjs` does that rewrite, so the `url()` paths below stay readable here.
